Chances Educational Support Services: Celebrating a Successful Ofsted Inspection
We are thrilled to announce that Chances Educational Support Services was inspected by His Majesty’s Inspectors from the 14th to 16th of May, 2024, against the Independent School Standards. We are delighted to share that the school received an Overall Effectiveness grading of 'Good', with 'Outstanding' features in 'Behaviour and Attitudes'.
This fantastic result reflects the dedication and hard work of our staff, ensuring that our students receive the best possible opportunities in their education. As the headteacher, I am incredibly proud that the tireless efforts undertaken by everyone at Chances have been officially recognised. Our wonderful students now have yet another reason to be proud of our learning community.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in the inspection itself, especially our staff, partner schools, DYS Space, governors, and our students, who shone during the inspection process and continue to impress us every day. The decision of the Ofsted inspection team to rate our school as 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features demonstrates their confidence in their decision and our community's high expectations.
We are committed to our positive trajectory and continue to aspire to be the best school we can, supporting students back into mainstream education.
Highlights of the Ofsted report include:
"Many pupils arrive reluctant to learn. Staff get to know pupils on an individual level. They find out about their likes and dislikes and what they are good at. As a result, pupils feel understood, settle in quickly, and re-engage positively with learning."
"Staff get the best from pupils."
"Pupils rise to the school’s high expectations of how to learn and behave."
"The school fosters pupils’ personal and social skills well. Character development runs through all aspects of school life."
"Pupils show demonstrable improvement in their attendance after joining the school."
"A significant majority of pupils reintegrate successfully back into mainstream education."
We are immensely proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing our mission of providing exceptional education and support to our students.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
Sincerely, Gary Hayes
Headteacher, Chances Educational Support Services
